Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
two roads diverged and me taking both

In waking and in sleeping
through the thicket that lies between
if-pods on dream cycles forth and back

And so much easier as winter comes
and almost all the leaves have fallen

it was the one from last night and the night before
and who had given you the bad advice to get on again
and what happened to that gentle pony led by a halter rope

of my dream submarine

Time for lists and lights
and surface flights

Or time for one more dive

For getting out the window
the best stroke is the breaststroke
after you get up speed soaring is easy

I wonder if that's what dying is like

I wonder if Chagall
or Tibetan guides through the bardo
have any hints on how to stick the landing

The Lady Who Eats Snow

There is a lovely sad lady in Texas
who eats snow in her dreams
writes about young wolves
and the order of the hunt

During the long dark winter
the lady who eats snow
grows larger and nearer to herself

The ice of the river is in her glass
she is two margaritas short of a howl

Soon she will dream
of alpha wolves
and water

Six weeks you lay in that coma
what dreams you had
I never asked, you never said

The telling of dreams
was not a morning ritual in our home

If in grade two
I had been asked of yours
I'd most likely have said
More cows and a better horse

She opens a door
into a huge domed stadium filled with men
women and children, in costumes of all the ages
She knows that they are all there for her
to set up any drama at any time
to learn any lesson she needs to learn

She closes the door
and walks down the corridor

Another door to a storage closet
Inside big barrels labeled
"Plot Thickner"

Carl Has Not Left the Building

First night in a Zurich hotel I dream
that Carl Jung is teaching across the park
Learn later that he did teach there

Also dream of sitting at a sidewalk café
with our teacher Hal who studied with Carl

Across the street and half way down the block
not surprised to find café and table still there

Hal is Hal Stone Phd., who, along with wife Sidra Stone Phd, created the Voice Dialogue method of psychological understanding
