The difficulty
in taking things apart to see why they tick
can often be
in putting them back together again

BOB MUD IN AUSTIN
BOB MUD IN AUSTIN
(World’s longest mud painting on newsprint)
Bob paints in mud
Brush tickles the earth
She needed a laugh
PATRICIA FISKE’S BIRTHDAY POEM
PATRICIA FISKE’S BIRTHDAY POEM
Thirty thousand times
the earth has spun
And eighty times
Around the sun
Sometimes the sun burns you
Sometimes you burn the sun
TEMPER
TEMPER
After 20 years, lost her temper
or, did she just find it
A CANADIAN TRADITION
A CANADIAN TRADITION
The crazy Canuckness of Kerouac and Cohen
Searching for a road-wise sunrise
And the crack in everything
where the light gets in
Not to follow seems a sin
MOOD DESCENDING A STAIRCASE
MOOD DESCENDING A STAIRCASE
What do I do
If daring to share
I bring you down too
TAURUS TRAVELS
TAURUS TRAVELS
When Taurus travels
Roots are torn from the ground
LURE OF THE LIMERICK
The “Lure of the Limerick” book’s at my side
The one I’d sought far and wide
I was sad to discover
Some dirt on the cover
And happily much more inside
All The World’s A Stage
All the world’s a stage
And there’s no plays like home
ON THE OTHER HAND
ON THE OTHER HAND
In Haifa
we visited a home
with original paintings by Chagall
(You know how he can always
make you feel like you can fly)
and a bomb shelter
under the stairs
Stopped at a wall by a bus stop
with one stone for each child
killed in the explosion
And looked down on the harbor
across the order the beauty
of the gardens of the Bahai
Looked out across the water
to Lebanon where the last
rockets flew
